I never actually realized how true that saying can be. Well when you're in California and it decides to rain, boy does it come down. It's quite funny actually because it seems everyone goes into complete panic mode but after 2 months of no rain it was eagerly welcomed! Tomorrow is supposed to clear up and warm back up to 20's as the week goes on :) So now that you're updated on the weather let me carry on..
As I mentioned in my last blog, mom and April came out for the weekend to join dad and I and see how things were going. It was so nice to have them here and get a little break from the normal routine. We got to spend some time with some good family friends we have out here, did a little shopping, and of course had mom and April to help me do the horsie thing too!
Both Stentano and Rif are doing really great. Stentano is starting to get more and more jealous so I have to watch I keep giving him enough attention ;) The poor guy though is traumatized when it comes to blanketing now. The first week because the air was so dry the static was so bad whenever I'd go to take his blanet off. Unfortunately I learned the hard way with 3 broken halters later. So if you ever have this issue: wet your hand and run it under the blanket as you take it off and it releases the static. Wish I knew that a bit earlier but who would have known something so simple would solve it. So for now I'm trying to get him to keep breathing when the blanket comes off.
This afternoon I had a lot of fun with both of them and as I walk over to the ring each day it really makes me stop and think how amazing this opportunity really is. Tomorrow I have a lesson with Sabine, the dressage trainer and then on Wednesday as well. El Campeon is working out so nicely and it really is such a beautiful place to escape off to after work. I think my internet is a little slow tonight so my pictures aren't uploading but tomorrow I will try to get some more up.
I hope all is well at home!
All my best,
Monica
