Embracing the dream!

After far too long in between postings, finally again hello from So. Cal!!

So I have come to realize that when you live right in between the ocean and the mountains internet is not as reliable as you’d hope ;) But finally today I have some time to sit down and write to you all and hope the internet connection will cooperate!
As each day goes by I cannot help but feel more and more blessed. I am truly living out my dream. Work has been pretty darn good for work. I am continuing to learn so much not only about the company but also about life. It’s just such a great opportunity and I love the culture of the company so I’m going to keep on keeping on!
Back at the barn, it has been so wonderful. Definitely hard work but I love it. This past week especially Rif has been teaching me so much. I could tell she was a little annoyed with me for a few days when I was trying to figure out some things but just couldn’t do it right. She is a princess but definitely much more forgiving than Stentano. Sabine, the trainer at El Campeon, has been so great and encouraging and is pushing me for better and better. Stentano has been his tricky self but feel Rif is really helping me which is translating over to Stentano. I’m not falling for his little tricks as much anymore.
I was able to ride through my choreography yesterday for both my freestyles so that was a lot of fun to do and realize that hey I can actually put this all together and make it work! Now we’ll see what fun music Karen Robinson came come up with J
Every day I am striving to ride more and more from my seat and work towards separating my aids from each other. It requires a huge amount of focus and determination so at times it’s hard to push through and not just take the easy way out but I’m determined to keep striving for better and better. It’s all about the focus and loving what you do!
It’s been really nice as well to have family friends close by who keep checking in to make sure I’m okay. I even got out go-karting at one point so that was super nice to spend time with someone my age just having fun!! Don’t get me wrong, the gray-haired people in the office are really nice, but I need a break every so often ;)
It’s been really nice staying in touch with everyone at home! Mom and I have been trying to figure out a way to get Bentley down here but right now it’s not looking very promising so we are still playing that one by ear. Stentano misses his little trouble maker brother because he could actually put him in his place whereas with Rif, he doesn’t even dare mess with her! Smart boy ;)
The weather continues to be lovely. We had a Santa Ana come in the other night (the strong winds from the east with warm air) and I couldn’t believe how windy it actually got!! I hope you are all doing well at home and please keep staying in touch because it’s so great to stay connected back home too!
I miss you all!

Here's a few pictures I thought would be nice to share :)

Welcome to El Campeon! My other home down here ;)

The grand prix jumping field.. aka part of our pathway to the ring when Stentano isn't brave enough to cross over the bridge.

Stentano & Rif's buddy Eddy!

And a few other friends.. took me awhile to figure out what was in this little barn!

And some more "different" looking friends! At first Big and Rif weren't so sure about them!
